Our Backstory
The Nonesuch story begins in the early 2000s when our founder, Rob Lingle, was working with a defense contractor building GIS applications for the U.S. Army.
Technology moves fast, and in a big, process-oriented organization like the Army, systems don’t always keep up. Syncing data between the Army’s two mapping systems was a pain, so Rob developed an app to make it easier.
He wondered where else technology could make tedious operations run smoother. Each time he took on a new project, Rob looked beyond the basic requirements. He dug deep to understand the core objective. Then he looked for ways to accomplish it faster and with less friction.
After transitioning to the private sector, that drive to solve problems at the root became the cornerstone of Nonesuch’s mission: to imagine and build tools that simplify work and take the tedium out of the everyday.
